How do I fix my Hard Disk?

my hard disk displays this message whenever I try to open it "error cannot find c:\autorun.vbs" it started showing that when I scaned it last for viruses and the anti virus (avast) detected that the autorun is infected with a .vbs virus. I then deleted it but after that day I cant open the hard disk using double clicking or right clicking then open except by typing the drive letter in the address bar. I'm afraid that it may get to the extent of my not been able to open it at all. I've tried using the chkdsk option with the /f (fix) command but to no avail. its an 80gb disc and i run Windows Xp with service pack 2. Thanks

Maybe you could try restoring the file using avast and then just 'clean' the file instead of deleting it (you should do this quickly) and your system should be okay.
Try putting it to another pc, as a secondary drive, then fix it there.

Or, bring it to a computer repair station.
sorry, but LMAO
Dont warry. Your HD is healthy. On "Start Menu" Click on "Run" and type: "regedit". after the Registry Editor runs, expand the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" key and scroll down to "Drive". Expand the "Drive" key, then expand the "shell" key. Now carefully delete every folder exept for "find". Close the Registry Editor. Restart your PC, and enjoy.
Something is trying to run that file which avast RIGHTLY removed, VBS files tend to be bad news unless you KNOW about them

try CCLEANER from www.ccleaner.com to scan registry for dead links.

Also get and try

adaware from www.lavasoftusa.com

spybot S%26D from www.spybot.org

to check system for any other spyware type infections.

All 3 are clean programs with no charges to use them
Hard disk brand please!!
