The evil people at the Symantec corporation developed the entire line of Norton software for one purpose, "World Domination!" Fortunately they suck too much to pull it off. I'd stick with the cheap route, AVG Free is great... i've been using it for two years and i've yet to encounter any viruses that it didn't wipe out immediately.

You will hear thousands opinons and to prove that the people at best buy was telling me that Trend micor scan sucks go with Norton, then at a later date when they were reallyt rtying to clear a huge build up of Mccafee they were saying it was best.

Now personal expeirince I will use nothing but Nortan antivirus and I will not use norton security suite. just antivirus.,I use Zonealarm free version for my firewall along with windows defender thats built in with Vista . I never have a problem .Nortan firewall is good but Zonealarm is more secure and easier to use. very simple. and most of all free. and vista compatible. My company uses Micro trend on all of their systems. I personally have adminstator rights to my company pc and i installed nortan why the rest the network is constantly getting attacked with trojans and voiruses Mine with Nortan blocks the infection every time. I trued Mccafee and it slowed my PC down way down. Tries to run every program basically it likes to take you out of conrol and put Mccafee in control of your computer. I dont like that. Keep Nortan and go to www.zonelabs.com to down load free version on firewall its great and easy to use. your system will be solid. every person likes different programs but from experince and heavy use I have found Nortan antivirus in conjuction with Zone alarm firewall the best solution. Good Luck,
trend micro sux, it pops up un invited try going with the first answer. i suggest to stick with norton. its number 1 for a reason.
