In my experience you need to know no more than Avast free, but I still keep my ADAWARE PERSONAL WHICH IS FREE, this is a really good combination if it is only for personal use. For business use they have an upgrade, I upgraded the Adaware but wasn't happy with it, the free one is far better. Have nothing to do with XPantivirous.
