Recently I've downloaded things from the internet and everything seemed to be under control. But now internet pages are poping in asking me if I want to install a spyware program.
Is my computer infected with spyware or adware?
I used avast! and cleaned out 3 viruses, but the problem is still here.
Help!!!
P.S. My Cd-Rom was working fine and now it appears as if I didn't have one. Can't even eject it. Could this be related to my problem?

run a virus scan to check for any other viruses and defrag your hard disk
Go to the page below.Click download now.And run it a few times. That should clean it out.My dad is a tech for dell and this is what he said to do.
try and system restore your computer, under start, all programs, acessiories, system tools, system restore. Chose a date before you starting downloading all that stuff.
I'm guessing the cd-rom problem is the same one I had. If you go into add/remove hardware in the control panel, and then search for hardware already installed, it'll show a little message next to the cd drive in the list saying "This device cannot start (code 10)". Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix that problem other than suggest an update or calling technical support.
CALM!! Sometimes computers do that, I'm NOT a guru, but I've had those problems before, try completely shutting down the computer and walking away from it for a few minutes, unplug it, the whole shabang. When you download things, sometimes it jumps on you and it's like a salesman and it's like "BUY THIS TOO!!" I used avast for a little while, but I didn't like it, I had to get a completely new software. People say you don't necessarily have to buy one to help your computer, but honestly it makes a difference.
