How many anti virus and spy ware?

how many anti virus and spyware should I have installed?

I`ve got AVG free, Avast, Spy doctor, peer guardian 2, kerio firewall, and windows defender.

Is this overkill?

I sometimes think that i should have a few more spyware, which ones would be good to down load?

Have only one anti-virus and one anti-spyware in real-time as it can cause problems having more than one active.

i.e. if a virus comes then both anti-virus softwares will clash and system can crash. So have just one in real-time i.e. in the background. the others can be used to scan manually.

My preference is AVG free http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/ for virus checker and to remove adware spyware Ad-Aware 2007 Free http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_a... and CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/download

I find that these work a treat as i have used various software after these two scan and they find nothing. Hope this helps.
One anti virus and as many as you like spware removers
when u r goiin to install more number of anti virus then urs system slows down due to constant checking by all of them .

so install only one anti virus which is best and just be secured .

no need to install all of them.
You got AVG and avast! installed? You only need one! otherwise sometimes they cannot work well together, pick what one you think is best and then uninstall the other one completely, and if you think one of your anti-virus has missed some viruses out, just use an online scanner. Windows defender isn't really that good, i'd recommend spybot search and destroy and superanti-spyware (Free Home Edition) Firewall is okay
You just need one anti-virus and one spyware.
Well yes..

First, you shouldn't have 2 anti-virus programs on your

computer. They can conflict with each other and cause

problems! One anti-virus at a time.

But as for Scanners, I use "Spybot Search %26 Destroy" %26

"SuperAnti-Spyware".. I use both of them to scan..

Also good idea to 'Check this computer's security' feature

on your computer.. If you have Vista...

You don't want to see something turned off by accident..

that happened to me because I had two..
I've got Norton 360, it covers me for viruses and spyware :)

all you need is one of each.
