My Internet is really slow, please help me....?

I have just re-formatted my computer so i dont think i have any virus (maybe i do and maybe i dont), i use avast and it didnt find anything and i even got myself windows defender and said my computer is running normally. I know its not the computer, so i think its my modem or my internet connection cause even when i try to play my playstation online it goes slow too... when i try to open webpages it takes a while... if i go over my download space thing my speed is meant to drop to around 200kb.... but right now its at 25kb!!!.... and they're also meant to send me an e-mail saying i went over, but my inbox has nothing from the unwired company.... please help me.... i would really appreciate it.... i've experienced no problems with my computer... at all! its only the internet thats the problem, but computer itself is running normally.

What kind of internet connection do you have? Is it dialup? Or cable? Some internet connections slow down the service if they aren't paid what they charge. Or if you go over your allotment for the internet they could slow you down until you pay for the over usage. Don't expect them to wire you! If they told use once that you went over that was it! They will wait for that overage to be covered before they give you proper service. You can either pay them or go to another internet company! You have to pay for what you use unless you use a free service. Free services are the pits you can expect them to get slow there's nothing you can do about that. If you're in Canada why not try jetstream.net or shaw.ca or sunwave.net

It's probably your browser. If you're running Internet Explorer, try downloading and using the Opera or Firefox web browsers . . . they allow you the ability to block those things that slow down your Internet connection, namely script-heavy advertisements, spyware, and other privacy intrusions.

After you download, check out the "tools" feature of the browser and customize the settings to disallow pop-ups.

Hope this helps and good luck! :)
