What are some of the softwares I definitely must have in a PC?

Please recommend some useful softwares that I can download for free. If you feel that some of the programs I have are not good, please notify me. Here are some that I already have:

avast Anti-virus

AVG Anti-Rootkit

COMODO BOClean

QuickTime

Pidgin

Also, please recommend a good media player that can play both music and video files, and a good DVD burning program that can burn DVD files from DVD to PC and vice versa. Thanks.

keep avast antivirus !

get rid of avg anti rootkit not needed.

comodo bo clean can go [ never heard of it sorry.]

keep quicktime its a good program.

ditch arovax shield[ never heard of it sorry.]

for burning cds/dvds i recommend nero 7 its a very good program to use and easy too with a nice interface.

be very carefull if you decide to use ultrawipe it can be quite dangerous if not configured correctly[ read manual 1st ! ].
